LYME AWARENESS ART SERIES

If you have visited my Facebook page lately, you may have noticed that I kept on posting a new series of paintings that aim to raise awareness about the Lyme disease.

I figured that throughout my art I can reach a wider audience for my Lyme disease awareness campaign that I have started in 2017. So far blogging about Lyme and writing healing poems enabled me to raise awareness about this infamous illness.

When I started blogging about Lyme on a-zlyme..com and other online platforms, I become the Lyme poet. This year, I turned into the Lyme artist or painter. I changed hats and worked towards seeing it happen.

Thus once I had the revelation to translate my Lyme journey into the canvas, I also wanted to voice the struggle of others and focus in specific on the invisible symptoms which bring so much misery to most of the Lymies.

In my attempt to illustrate what it entails to be suffering from chronic Lyme disease, I created a series of works that showcase one or more of these symptoms which are usually unknown to the general public.

Most of these works are paired up with a poem written by me, aiming to create a clearer picture of how it feels to be living daily as a Lymie. I will post them one by one in the following weeks, and you will be able to learn more about each one of them.
